Hawaiian Wedding Song

Hawaiian Wedding Song -- Elvis Presley sang this song in his 1961 movie
"Blue Hawaii."

Today visitors to Kauai listen to the song during their visit to the famous Fern Grotto.

The song was written by Charles King in 1926 for his operetta, "Prince of Hawaii." The Hawaiian name for the sone is Ke Kali Nei Au (Waiting Here for You).

The English words to the song, that we are familiar with were written by Al Hoffman and Dick Manning in the year 1958. Unfortunately, they are not a translation of the original Hawaiian words.

Elvis Presley sang in his 1961 movie "Blue Hawaii." That portion of the movie (the last 20 minutes) was filmed at the Coco Palms hotel on the Hawaiian island of Kauai.
