Hamoa Beach on Maui was once described by Mark Twain, as the most beautiful beach on earth.
Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times for swimming.
This beach is located on Maui's windward coast and the water can be rough. |

Ala Moana is the most popular beach park in urban Honolulu.
It offers 76 acres of activities, and is a man-made beach.
Caution must be exercised when swimming off the shore as there are strong currents. |

| The water here can be a bit rough at times and it does tend to get windy mid morning, the Baldwin Beach is just off the the Hana Highway. |

| Makua Beach, Oahu, is a long wide white sand beach that curves for approximately one mile between two limestone points. The width of the beach is normally about 200 feet but varies seasonally because sand moves to the east end during the winter and to the west end during the summer. |

Wailea Beach Maui is a series of sand crescents fronting the hotels of the Wailea Resort area.
The individual areas are bordered by lava rock outcroppings, making for excellent swimming and snorkeling. Hawaii Beach Picture.

The entire beach is unprotected from the ocean so surf and currents can be fierce here. On the northern end of the beach is Polihale State Park. One area on the 300-foot wide beach is safe for swimming and that is Queen's Pond, a small, encircled reef area. It is located on the south part of Polihale Beach going towards Barking Sands Beach. |

It is safe, calm and shallow making it very popular with families with small children. |
Punalu'u Beach Park is the most famous black sand beach on the Big Island of Hawaii.
This is a perfect place to enjoy the scenery, explore the black sand beach, watch the sea turtles, and swim or snorkel. |

Kealia Beach on the island of Maui is one of the most serene, and is a good place for beginners to learn surfing or windsurfing. |
| This is a lovely sand and rock beach with clear water for swimming and excellent snorkeling. While in the water, be careful of the slippery rocks. The beach is long and wide with sand dunes located inland. The beach is fronted by the Kea Lani Resort, Maui. |

A small tranquil bay, Napili Bay on Maui, is an excellent beach for swimming and safe for children.
This large sandy beach is perfect for a family outing. It is located next to the Napili Kai Resort. |
Considered by many locals to be the best swimming beach in Hawaii, Lanikai Beach on Oahu has clear waters, clean, wide beach, and swaying coconut palms. A mile-long stretch of powdered-sugar sand is perfect for sunbathing. Sparkling turquoise waters sheltered by a wide, protective offshore reef provide ideal swimming conditions. |

This gorgeous white sand beach fronts the Hytt Regency Maui on one end and the Sheraton on the other.
Clean, safe, good for most watersports and probably the best all around. |
